Make sure the bed you are considering is large enough. For example, a bed that is 36 x 27 inches may only have a sleep surface that is about 27 x 22 inches.
Check what material is used for the sleeping surface. If it is foam, is it thick enough to support your dog’s weight?
A good feature to look for is an egg crate orthopedic foam base. Also, are there side railings where your pup can rest her head?
The cover of the bed should be removable and machine washable.
Also, be aware that some beds are not suitable for dogs that engage in destructive chewing!
